School Leaders

There are several ways that our children can experience leadership at our school.

School Leaders:

During Term 4, prospective School Leaders apply to the Principal to become a School Leader the following year. The School Leaders are given many opportunities to develop their leadership skills from greeting and thanking guests, running assemblies, taking responsibility for school events, speaking at our end of year Prize Giving. They are supported by our Principal and a senior teacher who work with them on a weekly basis to develop those leadership skills.

House Leaders:

Each year, eight new house leaders are appointed to lead the four Houses: Kauri/Blue, Rimu/Green, Rata/Red and Kowhai/Yellow. The house leaders are responsible for running house assemblies, competitions, fundraising activities and events. They also support teachers and younger children through their role as leaders of their house.

Peacemakers:

Our Peacemakers are children in Y5 and 6 who help support our children during playtime and lunchtime. Every year they complete a first aid course so they can administer first aid. They are supported by our Deputy Principal in restorative skills, helping children work through disagreements and those children who just need a friend. Two children are given the opportunity to lead the Peacemakers and work with our Wellbeing Project team of teachers.
