Our School values:
We live our school values through the 3Rs:
Respect Ourselves (respect, ambition)
Respect Each Other (respect, integrity, inclusion)
Respect Our Environment (respect, integrity, inclusion, community)
We explicitly teach our values to our children by dedicating time each week to how we can live our values here at school and at home. Our Peacemakers and staff role model our values. Our values are very important to who we are as a school community.
Respect: Students, Teachers and Parents will respect each other, their beliefs and their right to a voice in our school.
Inclusion: Accepting others, being kind and compassionate and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of school life.
Ambition: That through hard work and high aspirations, as members of our community, we will achieve our potential.
Integrity: Students, Teachers and Parents will display honesty and responsibility through their actions.
Community: A strong sense of belonging and responsibility to the Kaipara Flats community.
Cultural Diversity and Maori Dimension
Kaipara Flats School will embrace an awareness of practices and procedures that reflect New Zealand’s cultural diversity and the unique position of the Maori culture.
This will require all within the Kaipara Flats School community to:
❖ Be accepting of other cultures and differences.
❖ Value each other’s heritage, culture and people.
❖ Be actively Involved in Tikanga Maori within school activities.
❖ Incorporate Te Reo into learning programmes where possible.
